Hello, I’m Rachel | Art Therapist & Counsellor

My name is Rachel Holland. I am a Masters qualified and professionally registered art therapist and counsellor. I was inspired to follow this career path from my personal mental health struggles throughout adolescence into young adult years, combined with my deep interest in art and psychology. Art has always helped to ground me and it continues enabling me to express my authentic self, heal my inner child and nourish myself as a self-care practice. I am passionate about the unique power art gives us to explore our identity, play and experiment with materials, as well as bring our attention to the present moment.

I strongly believe all individuals have the right to express themselves creatively. I became an art therapist to help others access their creativity and support them to express themselves authentically.

I provide individual and group art therapy sessions from the Farfalle Therapy studio based in the inner Northern suburbs of Naarm Melbourne, online and via outreach. I also run therapeutic creative workshops within the community.

I consider the unique needs of my clients, tailoring sessions to suit them. I provide a safe, inclusive space. I use a holistic, trauma-informed, client-centred approach, further adapted by theoretical approaches that are relevant for the individuals I am working with.

I am inspired in my own arts practice by the earth’s terrain, finding beauty in everyday things and celebrating people around me.
